The Other Side of the Ocean The other side of the ocean Where I had been You were my devotion Lighthouse in the wind And I was a sailor A drifter, a fool The other side of the ocean I became a diver for you I came back one morning And you’d sat up all night And then I walked in From the other side You looked straight at me My we hair shining But I never died Just dreamed a homecoming Sweet delight the rest of my life Sweet delight the rest of my life Sweet delight the rest of my life – live in sweet delight Sweet delight the rest of my life – live in sweet delight

Heat and Light My body is aching – there’s nothing to say And burned all my bridges – not much that’s coming my way The floors are all silent, I breathe in the night How long ago was it? The room was once filled with the heat and the light Still there’s a mark we made inside Hand over hand on every door As they board up the neighborhood We live in no more I stand in the hallway and trace all the cracks That break through the plaster and run from the front to the back Sweet dampness and decay, I breathe in the night How long ago was it? The room was once filled with the heat and the light Still there’s a mark we made inside Hand over hand on every door As they board up the neighborhood We live in no more I see them flatten out the block For new high-rises on the way In a pile a stick of furniture From yesterday You used to bring me the heat and the light

February Rain February rain at my window February rain starts to pour Darkness creeping in unaware now February rain at my door February rain keeps on falling Distorting everything I perceive Staring through glass eyes underwater Don’t know who or what to believe Just the February rain… So I continue go on Where have my good friends all gone Building this tower of song In the February rain In the February rain February rain won’t you quit now Is there not a break yet in store Twenty-one days you’ve raged on now February rain fall no more The February rain… So I continue go on Where has the winter sun gone? Building this tower of song In the February rain In the February rain

Faintly Glowing Faintly glowing like you do I know I’ve been burned by you Play with fire, nothing new I’ve seen you in the dark Faintly glowing silver spark Faintly glowing silver spark I have seen you near and far Scintillating white-hot star Fascinating – yeah you are Faintly glowing like you do I know I’ve been burned it’s true Play with fire, nothing new For there’s a million stars that shine down from the sky And I swear to god I’ll catch you firefly - firefly

Won’t You Stay with me ‘till Morning Won’t you stay with me ‘till morning Won’t you rest your weary head Won’t you sleep with me ‘till daybreak Watch the sunrise from my bed Won’t you stay with me ‘till evening Won’t you tell me that you’ll stay For I am tired and I’m lonely And grown so tired of these days Won’t you tell me of your past lives All of the memoirs that you keep For I am eager now to listen Before we fall on off to sleep Before we fall on off to sleep

about

Grabbing their name from a line in a poem by Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (AKA as Lewis Carroll) Memory’s Mystic Band were formed by Leigh Gregory as an all acoustic four-piece following the breakup of the Mellow Drunk lineup in 2005 after the band missed out on two Australian tours. Looking to do a simpler, stripped back band with a format similar to some of the songs and arrangements on “Rest Your Weary Head” (Leigh’s solo record from 2003), Leigh rejoined forces with Stephen Cavoretto from Mellow Drunk on backing vocals, trumpet and percussion, Darcy Vaughn on viola, and Burtt Blodgett on mandolin. This early lineup of Memory’s Mystic Band lasted approximately from 2006 until 2008 and were mainly known for their live shows at the Plough and Stars pub in San Francisco. The early recordings by the band were released in 2009/2010 by Vollwert-Records Berlin and included a single of a cover of Nikki Sudden’s “Ambulance Station” from the Jacobites’ “Robespierre's Velvet Basement” as well as the “Quite Early One Morning” EP.
